Cesc Fabregas not looking to replace Chelsea legend

The former Arsenal and Barcelona man is not looking to replace Blues legend Frank Lampard, despite signing as his replacement.

After 13 trophy laden years as a Chelsea icon, Frank Lampard left the club this summer, and as part of Jose Mourinho's rebuilding process, former Arsenal hero Cesc Fabregas moved to West London.
The Spanish international excelled on his first-team debut for the Blues, registering two assists and being involved in all three goals as Chelsea defeat Burnley 3-1. His assist for Andre Schurrle had fans of every club praising his ability, as his faux-shot turned into a light chip over the Burnley backline into the feet of the onrushing Schurrle.

Whilst performances like that every week will soon have Chelsea fans forgetting the departure of Frank Lampard, the 27-year old clearly defined that he has no desire to replace anyone - especially two players as different as himself and the Blues all time leading goalscorer.
Speaking to the official Chelsea magazine, Fabregas was questioned about whether he will replace Lampard in the midfield and become a legend in his own right.
The 91-time capped international said: "Time will tell - I have only just started my career here, but I don't consider myself to be a replacement for anyone.
"As much as you want to, you cannot compare the two players. Maybe I don't score as much as Frank, but I like to assist more. For me, we are different players and cannot be compared."
The new Blues signing also revealed his favourite player from the past, and one who he will be lining up with again this season - Didier Drogba.
