Abuja (AFP) - The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed on Wednesday they are finalising a new deal for national coach Stephen Keshi. Following an executive committee meeting in Abuja the NFF said in a statement they have approved that acting president Mike Umeh call an emergency meeting to ensure Keshi's re–engagement "within the shortest possible time". It is believed that Keshi will receive an improved contract of 7 million Naira (over $44,000) a month, up from his current five million Naira. Keshi took over in 2011 and his first contract ended after the World Cup. The 52-year-old led Nigeria to the round of 16 in Brazil after guiding the Super Eagles to a third Africa Cup of Nations title in South Africa last year.

A spokesperson to President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has denied claims that the President disbursed the sum of N100 million as compensation to parents of the abducted Chiboks girls. In a tweet last night, Okupe said; “I want to make it clear & emphatically 2(too) dat(that) PGEJ(President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan) did not gv (give) any N100m to d(the) chibok visitors who came 2(to) d villa. D story is absolute falsehood”. Earlier reports claimed that the President had given parents of the abducted school girls the sum of N100 million as compensation; an amount which was said to have caused some serious dispute within the Chibok community.

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith is speaking out about date rape and sexual assault, as the issue hits close to home for her. According to New York Daily News , the stunning actress revealed that a relative of hers was given a date rape drug. “My niece was given a date rape drug that weekend," Smith told the reporters during the panel. “That Weekend” is referring to the weekend that a 14-year-old girl named Jada was raped after being given a date rape drug, which generated media attention and a social media outcry with the hashtag, #justiceforjada. Following Nollywood movie producer, critique and writer, Charles Novia's recent take on the quality of Mavin records new video 'Dorobucci', Don Jazzy has issued out a reply.   According to Novia, 'Dorobucci' video quality is no match for the hit single, and wondered why the video which he said lacks the Nigerian vibe, was shot in South Africa instead of in Nigeria.   Novia said either Sesan or Clarence Peters could have been contacted to shoot the video instead of a South African-based producer with no knowledge of the Nigerian swag.
