The annual festival concert organised by the Lagos State Government, the Lagos Countdown has kicked off in grand style as Lagos State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola kicked off the flag-off ceremony and performed the ‘switching-on’ of Festival of Light as the Bar Beach area of Lagos wears new look decorated with an array of lights.
The festival, which began skeletally since on December 7, has witnessed daily rounds of merriment and entertainment and will climax on December 31, 2014 with the daily offering to include Karaoke, DJ battle, dance competitions, all night dancing, singing competition and others.
The Managing Director of LASAA, (organiser of Lagos Countdown), George Noah said: ‘If you are in Lagos, you should not miss Lagos Countdown at all. The fun is on daily, all round the clock.’

Artistes lined up for performance during this year’s edition of the festival include Omawunmi, 2face Olamide, Banky W, Daddy Showkey, Sir Shina Peters, Kcee and Wizkid.
This year’s eiditon will be hosted by Gbenga Adeyinka, Fade Ogunro and Jimmy Akinsola with the final event to take place on the night of December 31, 2014 and will witness what many called record-breaking fireworks.
