Jesus’ ordered down from the cross in crucifixion re-enactment in Lee county, Florida

WELL it’s one way to spend Easter.
An American Christian’s plan to remind people of the pain and suffering endured by Jesus Christ on the cross had to be abandoned after passers-by complained his re-enactment was too gruesome.
With the help of two assistants, the unidentified man suspended himself from a cross on public land next to a road in Fort Myers, south of Tampa in Florida.

He wore a loincloth and a “crown of thorns”, and sported fake — but quite realistic — scars over his torso and legs.
Passing motorists were distracted and upset by the display and contacted Lee County police, who ordered the man to come down because he had created a “public safety issue”.
“Easter is not about bunny rabbits and little chicks. This is what our Christ endured for us, for our sins. To hide that is to not live to the true faith of what he did for us,” the man told local news crews.

Witnesses who spoke to Fox News seemed dismayed that the crucifixion re-enactment was forbidden.
“Jesus is appropriate for everywhere,” one said.
Others seemed more interested in getting their picture taken with the man posing as Jesus.
