‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire‘ came
out on top at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, which was hosted by Conan
O’Brien and held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The Sci-fi movie
walked away with three awards, including the coveted ‘Movie of the Year’
prize, even beating Oscar-winning ‘12 Years A Slave‘.
Jennifer Lawrence – who plays Katniss Everdeen – was honoured with the Best Female Performance gong while her co-star Josh Hutcherson – who plays Peeta Mellark – was crowned with the Best Male Performance title.
Josh paid tribute to his late co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman in his acceptance speech.
He said: ‘It was so cool to have
Philip in our movies. He’s one of the actors I’ve looked up to my entire
life. I know if Philip were here he would think this was really cool’.
