Arjen Robben is the fastest player at the World Cup
Not only did Arjen Robben play a key hand in the demolition of reigning champions Spain on Friday night, but the Netherlands forward was also able to establish himself as the fastest player on display at the World Cup.
Robben scored twice, as did Robin van Persie, as the Netherlands produced a stunning display; plundering five goals past Spain having initially fallen behind from a penalty converted by Xabi Alonso in the first half.
In terms of Robben’s pace, the Bayern Munich star clocked a sensational 37 kmph as he scorched past Sergio Ramos on his way to score the fourth goal for the Netherlands - a top speed yet to be surpassed in the tournament.
With Robben top of the list, here are the top seven fastest players at the 2014 World Cup.
