Slim T’s ‘The Uprising Mixtape’ is a bold move [Review]...
Adetayo Okeowo’s journey into Nigerian
Hip-Hop has been quite fascinating. Still a youngin’ in the game, the
rapper has been through a phase most of his peers have not survived.
A Nigerian rapper’s attempt to go commercial is one of the hardest things to venture into to. Slim T struggled to do so too
But with his first ever project, Slim T has retraced his steps and gone back to the very beginning. The Uprising Mixtape is a breath of fresh air; Slim T boldly fronts his musing, feelings and ideas.
Covering several songs like Nicki Minaj’s ‘Leader’ and Drake’s ‘Started from the bottom’; the rapper brings his own style on the beats, not allowing the original versions to influence him.
#TUM isn’t the best mixtape released this year but is the boldest move made by a rookie MC so far..
