Wilfried Zaha publicly hits out at David Moyes
Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has publicly
spoken for the first time about the lack of faith shown in him by former
boss David Moyes.
The youngster was shipped out on loan to Cardiff City having failed to impress since arriving at Old Trafford last summer. Despite being tipped to improve his already burgeoning reputation under Moyes, the 21-year-old was never given the chance to make a claim for a first-team spot before moving to the Cardiff City Stadium in January, and has lambasted the recently axed United coach for not having confidence in him.
According to ESPN, Zaha said: "I signed for Sir Alex Ferguson and expected him to be the manager.
"David Moyes arrived and obviously - in general - he had to play older players.
"For some games I was not even on the bench. That was tough, very frustrating. You need the manager to trust you and that was not the case.”
Having seen Cardiff relegated to the Championship, Zaha will more than likely now return to United with hopes of securing his future at the club. Certain rumours insist that he is considered to be an expendable asset in Manchester, and if Louis van Gaal is appointed as the new boss - which many believe he soon will be - then he may face the prospect of having to move clubs in order to guarantee himself game time.
