Sideshow: Close call for Chris Brown friend

Was Chris Brown the target?Did the would-be assassin (or assassins - the number is unclear) - who emptied six rounds into rap mogul Suge Knight hit the wrong person? The violence, which kicked off Sunday during a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party at a popular Los Angeles nightclub, left Knight severely injured. Authorities say two other people were injured.

Multiple sources say police are looking at the possibility that the real target was party host Chris Brown, and that Suge stepped into the line of fire to save his friend.
MediaTakeOut.com cites eyewitnesses at the 1OAK Club who said it was clear Suge was collateral damage and Brown the real target.
Their motive? Unnamed Source tells the site Brown's former friends are unhappy about his new, clean, post-rehab lifestyle. "Chris used to run with a bunch of gang bangers who were really scary. When he got out [of rehab], he cut them all off. I guess they're upset about that," said the source. This theory has yet to be corroborated by officials. TMZ says Knight is recovering at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after undergoing surgery.

Prince on Sept. 30 will give the world his first solo record in four years, Art Official Age, while his band, Prince & 3rd Eye Girl, will put out the LP Plectrumelectrum. "Special events" will mark the releases, a news release promises.

Church leaders in Croatia, where Game of Thrones is filmed, are pressuring the local film commission to shut down filming on a scene that has Lena Headey's heinous, if lovely, character Cersei Lannister, walk out of the Church of St. Nicholas in the city of Dubrovnik in the buff, TMZ reports.

A dapper freak on 'AHS'

American Horror Story: Freak Show will have a few notable new cast members, including that dapperest of all leading men, White Collar's Matt Bomer, whose character will be "warped," show creator Ryan Murphy tells Entertainment Weekly. He'll be joined by fellow newbies Patti LaBelle and Jyoti Amge, also known as the smallest woman in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The season premiere is Oct. 8.

Audition for 'Price is Right'

CBS's popular game show The Price Is Right is looking for a new model to pose - in an understated, if most definitely sexy manner - with the consumer goods featured on the show. And for the first time in its 40-year history, the show wants a male model.
Open auditions are being held around the country, including one Sept. 8 in Philly at CBS3 (KYW-TV), 1555 Hamilton St.
