Jason Statham Shows off New Look for His Role as Ian Shaw in Fast and Furious 7
The production of “Fast & Furious 7” is underway at full speed, and fans of the franchise have been very excited about the next installment. There have been various rumors about what viewers will get to see in the new film, and while most unofficial reports are mixed and come with conflicting information, the studio has been taking the opportunity to tease fans with the occasional picture from the set. In a recent release like that, they showed off Jason Statham’s new look, which he sports for his role as Ian Shaw, the main villain of the movie.
The photo was released as a teaser on the official Facebook page for the film, and it shows Jason Statham sitting behind the wheel of a car with the caption “Jason is ready and you?” – and it’s clear that the actor has gone through a revision of his appearance for his new role. In the picture, he’s dressed in all black, with a black jacket and t-shirt, and gives off an overall stern and serious vibe. Which, after all, is not that unusual for the actor.
This is actually not the first teaser about Statham’s role in the new film that’s been shown so far, as another picture was released previously, showing the actor next to a car. The exact details about Ian Shaw’s involvement in the plot aren’t known, beside the fact that he’ll be the film’s villain, and that he’ll have a serious plan to take down the gang of Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel).
The character’s appearance was actually foreshadowed in “Fast & Furious 6”, during the post-credit scenes, where he is shown stepping out of a car, warning Toretto that he’s coming for him. Furthermore, Ian was responsible for the death of Han, and he’s looking for revenge for the death of his own brother (who met his demise in the previous film).
Other than that, it’s not clear how Jason Statham’s character is going to enter the plot, and how much of a problem he’s going to be for Toretto and his crew – but according to rumors and previews, the film is shaping up to be the most dramatic installment in the series yet, and is packed full of adrenaline-fueled scenes. Statham himself seems to be very serious about his role in the film as well, as he generally is, and he’s stated that he’s very excited to be taking part in the production, and is looking forward to seeing his character on the screen. Reportedly, he’s particularly fond of the car action scenes shown in the film, of which there are guaranteed to be plenty.
