No concerns over Ronaldo leg injury
There are no concerns in the Portugal camp over Ronaldo, despite the
emergence of pictures showing him leaving a training session early with
ice on his knee.
The star Real Madrid attacker was troubled by tendinitis during the club season.
A separate photo showing Ronaldo with his face in his hands was also widely distributed on social media, fuelling fears that his tournament may be in doubt.
But that second photo (see below) actually showed the 29-year-old star’s reaction to failing to control a ball during a Portugal training session.
And while Ronaldo, who along with Lionel Messi and Neymar is considered a leading ‘Player of the Tournament’ contender, did leave the training session early that is no cause for concern either according to Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho.
Commenting on the incident, he said: “Ronaldo has been 100% like the rest of us. Everything is fine with him but there is some caution, not only with him. Today many other players were using ice as well. There is nothing to worry about.”
