Sir Alex Ferguson reveals secret to Manchester United success

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he was ruthless at Manchester United - but that's what made him so successful.
The former-Manchester United boss was the most successful in the club's history, guiding United to 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two Champions Leagues.
The infamous "hairdryer" half-time team-talk was a big part of the Ferguson mythology, and there were run-ins with David Beckham and Jaap Stam among others.

With Ferguson the club was always bigger than any individual and he had no time for players who supplemented their on-the-field careers with off-the-field pursuits in celebrity circles.
"I was paid to keep winning, that was my job, so I was ruthless, I'm not going to deny that," Ferguson told the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year awards on Saturday as reported by the Daily Express.
"You have to have a strong personality when you're leading people. And I've got a pretty strong personality.
"I never doubted myself. Even in the dark days when I first joined Manchester United, I knew that what I was doing was completely right."
Many felt Ferguson was ruthless when it came to squad decisions, and he cut Stam, Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy loose from Old Trafford after fall-outs.
That mentality was obviously crucial to maintaining discipline and his credibility as United's manager. Unfortunately for David Moyes, Ferguson's successor, he could not follow suit and Moyes left United just 10 months into his Old Trafford reign.
