Arsenal
goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will a be a reported target for Swansea
City during the transfer window, with Garry Monk now putting firm plans
in place for the summer having been appointed the club’s manager on a
full-time basis.
Fabianski is out of contract at the end of the season and has already decided that this will be his last campaign with Arsenal. According to The Telegraph, Swansea are one of several clubs hoping to recruit the Pole on a free transfer, with the south Wales club prepared to offer Fabianski the regular football his craves.
The 29-year-old is the second-choice at Arsenal behind compatriot Wojciech Szczesny and Arsene Wenger reportedly wants to retain the services of Fabianski as his back-up ‘keeper. Fabianski, however, is determined to earn himself a No.1 position elsewhere.
Fabianski could leave the Emirates Stadium having played a pivotal role in helping the club achieve a first piece of silverware in nine years, with the shot-stopper playing in all of Arsenal’s games in the FA Cup this season.
He saved two penalties in the shootout victory over Wigan in the semi-final of the competition, and would appear to be set to play again at Wembley when Arsenal face Hull City in the final on May 17.
