Manchester United to offer forward new long-term deal

Wilson bagged two against Hull on Tuesday.

Manchester United are poised to offer rising star James Wilson a new long-term contract, ahead of the summer.
The 18-year-old made his first appearance for the senior team on Tuesday night and bagged an impressive brace which caught the eye of fans worldwide. To top of what has been a brilliant week the Irish Independent claim that Wilson will be handed a long-term deal by his club, as they are looking to secure the futures of their brightest young talents.
The striker’s current deal runs out in the coming months, but it’s believed his club have always been confident of tying him to a lengthy contract, despite interest from abroad. Wilson, who has been at United for the entirety of his footballing career, has been tipped for a bright future at Old Trafford, and Ryan Giggs’ decision to give him first-team game-time against Hull City has been met with appraisal.

If Louis van Gaal ends up in the United hot-seat it remains to be seen whether or not Wilson’s opportunities will increase, but for now at least it seems that the intention is to have him follow in the footsteps of the likes of Adnan Januzaj.
