Louis Van Gaal to implement Manchester United rules
Manchester United's stars could be in for a shock when new boss Louis Van Gaal takes the reins this summer.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Dutch manager will insist that all United players 'sit up straight' during team meals - and group mealtimes will be compulsory for the squad.
The 62-year-old former-Bayern Munich boss has been hired as a no-nonsense disciplinarian, and a few of the tales from Van Gaal's family life give clues to what United players can expect next season.
Van Gaal insists his two daughters use the Dutch formal version of "you" when addressing him at all times - even when they're out of the public eye.
And he insists that everyone must sit at the dinner table with straight backs before food can be served.
His biographer, Maarten Meijer, has likened him to a schoolmaster but maybe it will not be too much of a shock to the system for a number of United players who would have seen the Sir Alex Ferguson hairdryer first hand.
Van Gaal's daughter, Brenda van Gaal, took to Twitter to ask United fans to avoid sending her messages to pass to her dad.
"Dear MU fans, Thank you for the warm welcome. But to be clear. I will not pass any messages to my father."
